The city of Clawson, MI, is part of the Metro Detroit area, located in Oakland County. It covers a small land area of just 2.2 square miles, home to almost 12,000 people.
Originally known as Pumachug and The Corners, Clawson was incorporated in 1921 as a village and in 1940 as a city. Clawson sits just west of Interstate 75, with 14 Mile Road running through it. Clawson Park is a relatively large, open green space within the city, in addition to the smaller Parkland, Hunter and Grant Parks. Clawson goes by the motto, “Little City with a Big Heart.”
